Another New Year

It was just the 3 of us.

A little new year lovin'.
Dude, it was midnight....I was tired!
No resolutions this year.
We'll just take it day by day!

Christmas with the in-laws...or not

Over the river and thru the woods to grandmother's house we go.
OK...so not really. It was only about a five minute care ride.
Chase's self portrait with my new camera.

Momma couldn't go. I was ill. Mike and I stayed up until really late wrapping the rest of the gifts. He really was such a help this year. Usually...not much help. But he was great! Since we no longer have carpet in the living room I sat FOR HOURS on the laminate floor wrapping. Since I'm the 'big-boned' type (yeah right!) it wreaks a little more havoc on my body. I went to bed that night with horrible pain in my hip joints. Should I even be embarrassed to tell this...probably. We get up, open presents, Mike gets the turkey ready to bake...yes, he did it all by himself. I love him! I am dying! My hips are KILLING me! I decide to take a pain pill. You should know that I really hate to take medicine. So for me to take something I had to have been near death. I fixed a small bowl of cereal....no we didn't have a Paula Deen Christmas breakfast. I go rummaging thru my cabinets for some kind of pain pill that will relieve my pain for a few hours. After rifling thru bottle after bottle of my families narcotics, I decide on one. It was the only one left in the amber colored bottle with a child proof cap. That settles it...I'll take that one. Then I can get rid of the empty bottle in the process. Percocet...yeah that's it...that's the ticket! HO-LY COW! I went horizontal and waited for it to work. It worked all right. Worked me over! Mike came in there and I think I told him I love him about 4 dozen times. It was Christmas...I just wanted to make sure he knew that I loved him. The turkey baked. I took a shower after a short nap. I barely made it thru the shower. Back to bed. I was so sick. Mike and the boys left without me. At some point during the day I rolled out and headed for the couch. Didn't last long there. Mike brought me a plate. Have I already mentioned that I love him? It was loaded. Mashed potatoes right in the middle of the plate. MY FAVORITE! A few bites is all I could do. Turkey was good...only a few bites of it sufficed. Lord knows I'm sick if I don't eat! Hate I missed it ya'll. I'm sure I was missed.....HA! Just a few of the memories that Chase captured.
Aunt Carol (Mike's sis)

Meemaw (Mike's mom)
Whatcha got Lisa? (Mike's other sister)
Laura (the niece) looking at old family pictures with her mom and Megan (another niece).
LeeAnn, the niece.
Haley, the great-niece with a bite of turkey.
Meg.
Little Miss Allie Beth, the other great-niece
Heckuva way to get out of going to the in-laws for the holidays, huh?

Hate I missed it!

Christmas Morn

Santa brought Kody a set of dishes.
I don't think he was actually too impressed.
Santa thought it a GRAND idea!
Carson after opening his ticket to wrestling at Alltel on January 13th.
Now he WAS actually pumped about his gift!

Please do not notice that my tree was not totally decorated. We barely even got it up. We could never get everybody home at the same time to finish it. They boys weren't too torn up about it.

The haul.

I LOVE the haircut but oh-my!
Waiting patiently.
More waiting Even stupid-dog had a stocking stuffer. It was a new collar in case he ever gets out. I had them put a fake address on it. (just kidding) Anyone want a dog? We had the penguin version, too.

It was a good morning. Thanks God for the abundance this year. I always way over do it but it's always nice. Thank you Lord that you always provide for our needs and our wants.

1 Timothy 6:17

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

For He IS the reason for the season.

Dirty Windows

Christmas Eve. Bright and early...up and at 'em. After I got Mike to work I headed for more last minute shopping. Every year I say I won't do it. I won't procrastinate. It's just my nature. It's what I do. Procrastinate. I pick Mike up around noonish...we have lunch and head out for more shopping. Might I add....that Mike was almost the perfect shopper-husband-mate this year. He really kept a good attitude and did not ware one my nerves much at all. Thanks, babe! I always enjoy our time together! A quick trip to Target turned into a small mishap. I'm driving...only because Mike had been a little erratic behind the wheel for a few days. A small bit of rage and I had to take over. If you'll remember it was very sunny the day of Christmas Eve. My vehicle was actually pretty dirty. The windows were dirty inside and out. How do they get so nasty on the inside? Kids, I guess. When the sun hits those nasty windows it's not so conducive to umm...seeing. This big fat nice brand new SUV is behind us waiting for us to pull out...or so I thought. Start the car....seatbelt....check behind me.....reverse. Thud. WORDS! There goes that rage again. I backed into a girl that was also backing out at the same time. Thanks Ms. big fat brand new SUV for honking and warning the two of us. Thanks a lot. My big tall SUV hit the back quarter panel of the passenger side of her older Pontiac Grand Am...that already had some sort of damage to the rear passenger door. She had a small bit of damage. I had NO damage. Many apologies from me. She was really, really sweet. She called her husband and they chatted....all the while I let Mike do the talking. Did we want to claim it on insurance? Heck to the NO! There was some sort of monetary offer made by Mike at one point (whick I hoped she wouldn't take) - she never even mentioned it. She said several times not to worry about it....that she has been very blessed and it was Christmas Eve. She wrote up an agreement that we both signed stating what happened and that we agreed not to file claims. Thank you Lord. Thank You Lord that there are still nice people around.

Seems as though this one is somewhat timely for the Sandanista house. (nickname for Sanders from high school). Mike has done dinner for the last 3 nights. Not always necessarily cooking but maybe warming leftovers. WHATEVER....I'll take whatever i get. Thanks honey-I've been totally crunk over it!
