Trespassing
Once we were kicked out of the auditorium after the band contest, Me, Mike and Carson went traipsing thru the school. Trespassing. Mike LOVES walking through that school. Reliving the high school days. It's kinda fun, I guess. Remembering good times...and others.
Here is Mike looking down one of the hallways. He's actually watching Carson skate all over the place.
One of the places Mike spent a lot of time. The office. He majored in office-aid and Home-Ec. If he wasn't in the gym, or the Home-Ec room, he was here.
The Commons Area...or more commonly known as the cafeteria. Mike sat at the table underneath the large striped flag...more towards the middle of the room. I sat at the table underneath the American flag. We NEVER sat together at lunch. He had his people and, well...we just never sat together.

Ralph Russell. I LOVE this man. I have two favorite teachers. He is one of those two. Have I already told you that? Anywho-this is a picture of a picture that is hanging in the school along with several other teachers and administrators. He was recognized as Teacher of the Year...not sure if it was '04 or '05. Well deserved. Notice the chain around his neck. A picture of his daughter Jae Lynn. I think this is the necklace that Kody had made for each member of Jae's family-Ralph, Becky, Casey and Abby. He had help in purchasing it, from a few people who also love the Russell family. We love you guys.

This next picture is just random. Mike drove Allison's car home after contest because she was felling ill. On the way up her street...I see this sign.

Eighteen
...in a row that is. Eighteen years of SUPERIOR ratings for the NPHS Falcon band at the regional contest. I told you they were good! They did awesome. They performed 3 songs and after performing they had sight reading. What is that? I, of course, had to overhear someone talking about it to know what it was. The entire band is given a sheet of music. They have only a few minutes to study it and practice it...not sure exactly how long. They must then perform it for the judges after everyone has left the auditorium. No audience. Ms. D was very proud of their sight reading.
Contest went all day Monday and Tuesday with NP performing at 8:30 Monday night. Chase is a Freshman officer and had to work it all day both days. It was at NP and all officers were required to work it. He was SO tired but he loved it. I am so glad that he is a part of something so awesome. He did AWESOME! I think it is so cool that he can, as Mike says, toot his horn-and with horrible asthma. Go figure!

By the way, did I tell you that Chase made All-Region? Not too shabby. Mike actually had no idea what it meant. Honey, it's like making all-conference and all-state.

Coming Through It
I found out Friday (before we were hastily dismissed due to inclement weather) that I got the job! What job you say? It's a new position that was vacated by another girl at work. Our department got a new commissioner back in December and he needs an assistant. The position was created and it was filled by my girlfriend. I applied for her job and got it. I will be support staff to 2 attorneys and four investigators. Since the new commissioner has come on board, this section of the office has become very, very busy and very stressed. I'm scared. I've been doing my same job for a lot of years. Not even sure now for how long...over 10, I know! I've been very bored for about the past year or so with what I'm doing. Stuck in a rut. I'm very nervous about this job. I can do it. I KNOW I can do it. It's just learning a few new things and worrying about personality conflicts. My new supervisor has been a good friend for a lot of years. It'll be awkward but God will see me through. I'll be working for a whole new set of people-but people I've worked with for years. I'm relying on Him. He has taken care of me.
The last year and a half has been hard. Financially we have really struggled. But coming out on the other side-Lord, I hope this is the other side-I can, of course see how He has been there all along. After having to ask for help, which is completely humbling, we've been able to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Trying to get back on top, we still have a few debts to pay-you know who you are. It's coming. We haven't forgotten. We wouldn't have made it with out the help. Again, it was very hard, and very humbling and I love you. Thank you. This new job has actually been the second 'promotion' that I've gotten within the last year. About this time last year I got a grade increase (don't ask - state government). I was still doing the same thing-just a new job title and an increase in pay. And this new job will be an increase. I was told Friday that I start this new job on Monday. I still have some loose ends to tie up with my, I guess, old job but it's no big deal. Pray for me this week, please.
