****EDIT****
To read the beginnings of this post - see 'original post' below.
This is Mike and our friend Jeff.
At our ball park.
In front of the concession stand...that is now almost destroyed.
I started this post last night before the storms hit. I didn't finish for watching the the weathermen all evening. Funny how I was posting about baseball and the park, huh?
Those dugouts no longer exist.
***ORIGINAL POST***
Many of you probably already knew that Carson didn't play ball last summer. I think there were many factors that played in his decision. One...I think he was too scared of getting hit by the ball. He was to move up to live-arm (pitching) last year. He played fall ball to get ready for live arm and got beaned more than most kids. Two...I think he was just flat burned out. He's played ball since he was four years old and being the ripe old age of 9 (at the time)...well that'll wear a fella out! The last year that he played, which was '06, he started practice in March. The season started in April and he played the regular season until June. Then you have All-Stars. You play in various tournaments to prep for state tournaments and such. Now, mind you, this all usually begins in July. The blazingly, miserable part of the year. The whole month of July is chocked full of baseball. After coming in 2nd in the state tournament (which qualified them for the regional tournament) we spent 4 days in Van Buren for the regional tournament.
