Pickin' and Grinnin'

After leaving Blanchard Springs we headed towards town...on into Mountain View. We had to stop by Wal Mart and get Kyle some dry clothes. I had forgotten to tell Lisa to bring his swimsuit so he swam in his clothes. Then we came across this stange looking vehicle. Only in Mountain View, Arkansas. And, yes, it sat out in front of Wal Mart. Dinner on the square.

Lisa and I talked about steak and I knew that the last time Mike and I and the boys were hear (2 years ago), there was a steak house on the square. No longer. It's mexican. Which is fine with me, as I can eat mexican anytime!
After dinner we went outside the mexican restaurant and stepped right into blugrass.

We also saw this.

I thought it was the neatest thing, something I've never seen before. It was a small depository for worn flags.

Do you remember the show Hee Haw? See this. O M G! I used to LOVE that show when I was little. This is it. Mountain View' Pickin and Grinnin.
Taylor and I took the boys on a little carriage ride around the square while Mike and Lisa sauntered around.

This is handcrafted whittled wooden pieces. The boys each purchased one.
This is a handcrafted walking cane.

This is a hammered dulcimer. They provide a beautiful sound. At the bottom is a video clip. It's beautiful music.
This gentleman was playing spoons. When we went a few years ago a lady let Chase borrow hers and he loved it. Actually did pretty well with it.

I LOVE this music. I could sit for a long time and just watch and listen but there were so many to see and....

these people weren't all that hip on it. I will have to say they tolerated it pretty well. They would watch and listen for a minute and then were ready to move along.

Checking to out the cool ride.
Found this on the roadway...not sure exactly what it meant.

Taylor surely likes the camera...and I love being behind it! She's so much fun.
Watch my video!
